Krishna C. Mukherjee is a Microsoft veteran, software architect, and technology executive with nearly four decades of experience building software products and AI systems for consumers and enterprises worldwide. He joined Microsoft in 1988 after earning a master’s degree in computer science and engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, where he specialized in artificial intelligence. At Microsoft, his teams built the intelligent assistance features now used by hundreds of millions of people, including AutoCorrect, AutoFormat, and the spelling and grammar checkers in Microsoft Office. His work also advanced the interoperability and automation technologies that enable Microsoft applications to work together.
He later held senior technology roles at Microsoft partner organizations. At Wolters Kluwer, he invented the Intelligent Filing Manager, an AI expert system for regulatory compliance, and is the named inventor on the related U.S. Patent 6,314,415. At Bloomberg, he led the creation of the Bloomberg Valuation Service, which applies predictive analytics to millions of financial instruments. Most recently, he architected conversational AI solutions for banking and payments on Microsoft Azure.
He is the author of “The Microsoft AI Insider’s Playbook: Your Guide to Cloud Strategy and Digital Transformation” (Apress/Springer Nature, 2026). His articles have appeared in CIO, Chief Executive, and CEOWORLD Magazine. Forbes, Entrepreneur, and The Indian Express, among others, have featured his career and work. He has received awards and honors from Microsoft and other organizations and is a member of ACM and IEEE.
